30-Day Challenge

I'm starting the 30-day challenge I got from tumblr last Monday. I know it's weird, but I'm only doing it here on blogger, not on tumblr, because it's kinda public there, and I don't want my followers who don't know me to read about these very personal posts. And I think the essence of this challenge is kinda lost if I'll post it on tumblr, since that website is more like an instant blogging site. (Don't misunderstand me, but I love tumblr.) :)

Ok, so let's start!
  • Five weird things you do when you're home alone. I know they're not really weird, but I can't think of anything I do that is in the definition of weirdness right now, so here goes:
  1. I spend soooooooooo much time on tumblr. Normal people spend soooooooooo much time of facebook, and here I am on summer spending half of the 24-hour day sitting like a boss, tumbling the day away. I think one unusual fact about me is that I hate facebook, especially the attention-seeking people in it. I sometimes want to change my name to No One and like some git's stupid status, but I think I will be judged by people if I did that. In tumblr, I'm free to post what I want, and I also have more followers in it than friends I have on facebook (and followers from twitter). Tumblr also is like my creativity space on this crazy world, aside from my diary. :)
  2. I eat and eat until I'm full. I've always been so thin in my entire existence here on earth, so I don't mind munching more food because I'm never getting fat. Pringles is my favorite junk food, btw. I also like fruits (oranges, apples, etc.). And I like noodles. :D
  3. I watch movies or dramas or any shows. I think this is not really weird, but this is really what I do, especially when I am in the dorm alone (as always). When I am not watching a drama, it's either I'm watching a movie, or an anime, while eating something. :)
  4. I read books. Ok, it's not really weird, but I can't think of anything I do alone except these things I am writing. I read books I buy mostly on Book Sale, but sometimes I also read from e-books I've been downloading on the internet (I'm a pirate, lol). But I prefer reading on books because my eyes get strained when I read on my laptop all day.
  5. I talk to myself and dance and sing real loud. I talk to myself when I am alone, usually when I remember something stupid I did. It is usually accompanied by a slap in the face, or anywhere, as long as I (mildly) hurt myself. I also like blurting out Korean expressions when I'm alone, like 진짜 (chincha: really?) and 오모 (omo: oh God.), especially when something (interesting) happens in what I am watching or reading. I also like dancing and singing K-Pop songs real loud. :D
So, that's it. My first day in the 30-day challenge. :)

Life List:

From the previous semester, I’ve already got the gist of the French, Spanish and Chinese languages. :) I reckon I’ll further study Chinese because I liked the language and the writings. :) Originally, I really want to learn Japanese, but because of some reasons this sem, I took Chinese classes instead. I’m still torn between French and Spanish, though; I don’t know which I will take next sem. I like French more, but Spanish is easier. As of now, my mind says that it wants me to take Chinese and French electives next semester. :)

30-Day Challenge

I got this originally from tumblr. Credits to thingsicantconfess. It sounds fun, so I'll try it. :)

Look what I unearthed:

It’s my battered copy of To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. :)

The electricity in our town went off this morning, so I was forced to step out off my laptop and do other stuffs. Coincidentally, my eyes lingered at our bookshelfs, and I found myself arranging it and counting my book collection. :) I was running out of books to read, and life has been boring this summer; all I do is eat, tumblr, and sleep. So I was all smiles when I found this book. Will be re-reading it again to kill boredom. :)

I also made a heart bookmark I found in tumblr. Sugoi, deshou? :D

What A Girl Wants:

To be able to read Le Petit Prince

prettybooks: (by Federica Mu) Le Petit Prince. I want to read a French book. :) I want to read the French version of The Little Prince. Our French 10 prof said that we need to reach French 40 before we can read (and understand) it though. That’s still a long way to go. :|

April Starts

Ok, I know this post is already too late, but I think I should write about it to honor the awesome events life handed me so far after the second semester. :)

*I apologize for the quality of the camera. I borrowed my cousin's phone since mine doesn't work well. That notebook is my 2011 diary and journal. :)

On picture: Thursday, March 31. Deadline of Econ 131 paper

Thursday, March 31 is the last day of making my last requirement for this semester. I kind of crammed my mini-thesis for Econometrics in this day, racing for my life as the clock wound down to 3 pm. My topic was the link between educational attainment and beer expenditure. The paper was mostly regression and stuffs, and I'm not really sure if I did it right. I just hope that it was ok and presentable and decently written, because I really think that it's not. I hope I'll get a nice mark in it. :)

On picture: April 1. summer officially starts now

It's officially summer to me this day. Plus, it's three days before Hyukjae's birthday. :>

These days, I've made it my daily routine to check CRS for my grades. The first grade that came was French 10, in which I only got 2 (but it's ok, since I didn't really put much effort in it, though). But I can say that it's really my favorite class. It was fun because of our prof, he's relly witty and has a really good sense of humor. :D Plus, he has a really good French accent. :) The next grade that came was in my Psych 101. I surprisingly got 1.5 there, and I don't know why because I didn't really exert much effort in it, and my exam results were really mediocre. I also think that my report there was kinda lousy. haha. :)

On the pictures: Monday. April 4. Saengil chukha hamnida Lee Hyukjae! Saranghaeyo. :) Translation: Happy birthday, Lee Hyukjae! I love you. :)

Ok, my blog, I'll introduce him first. He is Lee Hyukjae, the dance machine of Super Junior, and my future husband. loljk. ;p Monday, April 4 is such a lovely day. :D I was up tweeting (as all ELFs are) by 11 pm on April 3, since the time difference between Seoul and Manila is 1 hour. #asiaanchovyday was a trending topic on Twitter. :) (Fangirling ain't a sin!) :)

Another reason why this day's lovely is because my Intsik 10 grade came. My eyes must be deceiving me because it says that I got a 1 in it. Prof, is u serious? (haha. :) tumblr talk) My standing there is only 1.25 (I figure it must be the assignments and bonuses, idk..haha. --, ) Anyways, thank you very much for this. :) My Span 10 grade came the next days, in which I only got 1.5.

Thank you God for all your wonderful gifts, for my eventful second year second semester, and for the people I met along the way. :)

what the fuck

Yes, really, what the fuck?

I just arrived from my sister's graduation. Saw bunch of my high school classmates at school today. It was a bit nostalgic; it was my first time setting foot at my Alma Mater ever since our high school graduation.

It was not fun at all. I mean, I confirmed something nasty. :(

See, a few months ago, a friend of mine sent me a message (on Facebook) saying rumors are circulating about me being emo, smoking, drinking, and going to bars.

I didn't believe it at first. I mean, I thought that our classmate who told her about that was just joking her. Plus, I don't really believe something unless I see it with both my two eyes, or hear it directly.

I felt bad after receiving that message (because it's not really true). Since then, I stopped posting statuses (and connecting my tweets) in Facebook (for fear of being judged?). I started a private blog, and frequented on Tumblr and Twitter more. I suddenly had this phobia? or anger? (I don't know) with Facebook. You know the feeling of anger and discomfort everytime you log-in on Facebook? That's what I felt everytime. And it sucks. And the thought of who reached those rumors hunted me sometimes. :(

Anyways, my classmates I met today confirmed that yes, this rumor is really circulating (particularly in UST). I didn't really wanna talk about it, so I told them that it's not true, and I didn't care whatever they say because in the end, it's not really true.

So yeah, the truth, here it is: I am sometimes emo (and I don't deny it). I like wearing black (but not always), and when my high school batchmates meet me at the university, they always see me in it (and so I was branded like that for life. Great.). But I don't smoke--I don't really; I haven't tried it ever, and I don't want to. To tell you the truth, whenever my dad is at home and when he's smoking, I always ask him to stop because I can't breathe with the fumes. The same goes when we have visitors in the house who smokes. I always imply to them that I can't breathe well (yeah, I know I'm rude). I also don't drink beer, or wine, or ANY alcohol beverage (for heaven's sake) ever since birth. And I don't go to bars (I haven't really been to one, either). Let's just say that my idea of FUN FUN FUN is spending the night with my laptop named Anchovy (yes, my laptop's got a name, and it's taken from one of the nicknames of Hyukjae, my ultimate K-Pop bias), watching Asian dramas and anime, or reading mangas or e-books.

Eff. Really.

P.S. I know that it started as a joke between them, but for heaven's sake I don't think they'll never understand how the fuck it affected me (especially at this crucial time of my life). :(

Anagrams!

I just finished reading The Da Vinci Code last night. (Yeah, this really old novel.) I hesitated to read it when I was in high school back then, because I don't want to have this "different" view of my religion. I got bored this week (even if tons of schoolwork are on my list), so I went to Book Sale to buy a book to read, et voila, I found it sitting right there on the book shelf. I figured a little reading won't hurt, so I bought it. And it didn't fail me. The Da Vinci Code is intelligently written and all, and it kept me hanging and reading 'til 2am in the morning.

Because of this novel, my love for anagrams was re-ignited. (Yess!) I have been a fan of anagrams since The Series of Unfortunate Events novels. I just found this cool anagram generator on the internet. Check it out.

Anyways, I found out that my name can be rearranged to form Irene Adler.

For the record, Irene Adler is the only woman to outwit Sherlock Holmes. I have been a fan of them (and I ship them, haha)! (How nerd of me.) :p I love A Scandal in Bohemia, it's my favorite Sherlock Holmes story so far. I think Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler have a really cool chemistry.

(Maybe I'm the reincarnated Irene Adler?) loljk. ;p

ICLiP

Our last CWTS meeting ended today with an educational trip to Museo Pambata for the kids.

I don't really want to attend this culminating activity (it's on a Saturday) because I want to go home this weekend. Anyhow, I still went for the sake of finishing this subject. It has been tiring (yet fulfilling) teaching four kids (C.J., Angela, Marick-ar, and Shiela) during this second semester, and right now, I'm feeling really happy because it's finally ended. (No more going to Katipunan every tiring Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to teach!)

I will miss the kids I've taught; they have been very nice to me throughout the semester. I definitely won't forget them because they're my first students; they're someone who actually listened to what I've gotta say and believe every little bit of it. I seldom receive compliments in my life, and they're one of the few who actually said some to me. (Omo, why does this post suddenly sounded dramatic?) :)

Anyways, this educational trip to Museo Pambata wasn't really fun. It turned out that most of the kids already visited this place before. I feel like I'm Sunny (from SNSD) in the SEOUL music video while walking hand-by-hands with Angela and Erika (the kids assigned to me). (LOL, random thought.) This trip is very tiring because of the heat of the sun (we ate lunch at a park? near Quirino Grandstand). Glad I bought The Da Vinci Code to pass the time while the kids were playing. On our way back to the center, we (luckily) witnessed a shooting on the road. Because of the traffic, the jeep we were riding on was positioned perfectly near the set, and we caught a glimpse of Sarah Geronimo and Gerald Anderson (about to kiss, haha). We also saw Joey Marquez and a familiar fat actress whose name I don't know. :) Jeepney rides are so uncomfortable; the heat of the sun in the afternoon is unbearable, and so is the smoke from the vehicles on the road. After this day, I went back to the dorm exhausted and tired. (No more CWTS! No more CWTS!) :)

I can feel summer coming faster now. :)

Why all emo?

Just had one of the worst (read: ironic) days of my life. I just really want to cry today (the feeling of holding it all in pains me), but no one will probably notice and care. Glad I have this secret blog with me. Thank you, Lord for making me chance upon this picture today. Thanks for showing me how lucky I am. I love my life because it is beautiful, despite all these stuffs happening to me right now.

A Valentine Post

An economist's My point of view of the inefficiencies of having a boyfriend.

The Opportunity Cost of Not Being Single:
  1. Limited time for yourself. There is the tradeoff of some of your time for yourself & family vs. that of your loved one.
  2. Must always look good. You can never meet him looking like a mess.
  3. Limited social life. Time spent with him eats up the time you should've spent with your friends having fun, or meeting/befriending someone.
  4. Limited study time. Even if you only meet five hours a week, that is still some hours spent not studying, and that can have an impact on your grades. haha. :D
  5. And many other reasons I don't feel like writing. :)
Be single forever like me. LOL, just kidding. :p
Happy Valentines! <3

Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?

I could really use a wish right now.

A hundred wishes right now, actually.

So, that'd be like 100 airplanes in the night sky. It's like WWII.

doushite?

Why is life so ironic? Maybe because it's just unfair to me.

Why do I need to study all these stuffs when I won't be needing them when I work? Maybe I just need to allocate my time doing productive things instead of idling it away.

Why do I feel empty every time? Maybe I'm just an incurable wallflower.

Why am I so mediocre? Maybe I just don't want to exert effort on not-so-important things.

Why can't I change? Maybe this is the best I can get.

Why am I so cynical? Maybe it's in the things I read.

Why am I still alive? Maybe someone still needs me.
