Prayer for Generosity

Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous,
teach me to serve you as I should,
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labour and ask not for reward,
save that of knowing that I do your most holy will.

-St. Ignatius of Loyola

This is my favorite mass song when I was still in our Catholic high school back then. I miss singing this especially during class masses and retreats. I love this song's message, and I always ask it to God: to make me more generous and thoughtful of others. But honestly, sometimes I can't do it. I can't be selfless even if I want to. :(

Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous.
